In keeping with their annual tradition, Celtic/Medieval Ensemble Brocelïande will welcome in the Winter Solstice with a joyous concert of traditional and Early music of the season. Between the trio, they play Celtic harp, cello, guitars, recorders, nyckelharpa, octave mandolin, flute, hardanger cello d'amore, and oboe. Brocelïande plays traditional music of Northern Europe and Medieval and Renaissance music, with an emphasis on music inspired by or traditionally performed during each of the four seasons. Their entrancing sound features stellar vocal harmonies accompanied by Celtic harp, octave mandolin, cello, 12-string guitar, recorders, flute, nyckelharpa, and more!
Brocelïande tours throughout the West Coast and has been performing since 1999. Recent performance highlights have included the CalTech Folk Music Series, the Stanford Bing Series, the Music of the Spheres Series, the San Francisco Seventh Avenue Performances Series, The Friday Night Live Series at the Triton Museum, and many others. In 2008 Brocelïande performed in the Disney movie Bedtime Stories.
