Isa Gucciardi will discuss her widely acclaimed book, The New Return to the Great Mother, and illustrate how mothers, their partners, and birth professionals can rediscover the transformative feminine power at the heart of the birthing process. “Great Mother” is a term that many cultures use to refer to the generative and creative power of the earth. Isa will touch on several of the trends that have led many women to disconnect from their feminine power. She will offer the concept of birth as an initiation and detail the healing implications of this perspective. Ms. Gucciardi will outline some of the paths of discovery that women have taken to reclaim their feminine power and tell their stories about how this was revealed to them during the birth process to inspire you to find your own path to the Great Mother.

Isa Gucciardi, Ph.D., is Director of the Foundation of the Sacred Stream, a school for consciousness studies located in Berkeley, CA, and the author of Coming to Peace. She is the lead instructor for many of the classes at Sacred Stream, including Tracking Spirit in the Birth Environment, Initiations of Sacred Feminine, and Depth Hypnosis.
